The ESPRIT project has now been running for six months. Whilst in Paris to discuss progress so far, project partners got a chance to meet the project’s External Advisory Board to get their feedback on various aspects of the research and how it might be taken forward.
Some of the particular points of discussion were the issue of pre-booking, the battery capacity, the look and feel of the vehicle (both inside and out), the intermodal aspects of ESPRIT, the need to model ESPRIT in competition with existing services and the issue of subsidies.
Following the meeting with the EAB, there was an outing organised into Paris. The bus crawled through heavy congestion for much of the journey, as if to illustrate the need for ESPRIT in facilitating more use of public transport. The project partners enjoyed a cruise down the river Seine, taking in many of the city’s landmarks whilst enjoying fine food and wine.
